FAKUMA 2026: NextGen Medical Solution

At FAKUMA 2026, ARBURG (Hall A3, Stand 3101) will present the expanded “NextGen Medical Solution” project. In the turnkey system built around an electric ALLROUNDER 570 A, machine, mould, automation and peripherals are digitally networked. A new feature is the AI tool “Hopper” from Plus10, integrated into the GESTICA control system, which uses self-learning capabilities to optimise parameters and product quality.

Data combined in the central GESTICA control system

The focus of the “NextGen Medical Solution” production cell built around an electric ALLROUNDER 570 A in clean-room version is “Parametric Release”, i.e. release approval for the medical and pharmaceutical industries. The centrepiece of the exhibit is an 8-cavity mould from Hack, which produces PP caps for injector pens in a cycle time of around ten seconds. A suspended, space-saving six-axis robot integrated into the control system removes the moulded parts from the mould and sets them down separately according to cavities. A major benefit is the common data set in GESTICA, in which not only mould data but also data from temperature control units and the robot system are brought together. This makes the production cell easier to control, ready for production more quickly and capable of producing less scrap.

New: integrated AI tool “Hopper”

A further new feature is “Hopper” from Plus10, integrated into the GESTICA control system. This software tool uses Artificial Intelligence (AI) to analyse machine and process data live, independently identify deviating patterns, learn correlations between process parameters and quality, and make predictions about part quality. In the event of relevant deviations, “Hopper” proposes optimised process parameters that can be adopted directly. This reduces the need for time-consuming quality inspections. In addition, important quality parameters can be viewed at any time and documented directly in the control system.
