FAKUMA 2026: Smartest Factory

ARBURG (Stand 3101, Hall A3) is pooling its comprehensive portfolio for digitalisation along the entire value chain in the central exhibition area “Digital Services and Software” at FAKUMA 2026. Trade visitors will learn how ARBURG supports its customers on the path to the Smartest Factory with products, services and extensive expertise, from the injection moulding machine with assistants and pilots, through the automated production cell, to digitally networked plastics part production.

40 years of ARBURG host computer system

In 2026, the in-house developed ARBURG host computer system (ALS) celebrates its 40th anniversary. To mark the occasion, special promotions for customers will be launched from FAKUMA onwards. The modular MES from ARBURG helps users maintain an overview by visualising information on machines, employees, items, status and priorities, for example, and enabling flexible real-time order planning. MES not only creates transparency in production, but also increases Overall Equipment Efficiency (OEE) by an average of more than 26 per cent. One of the new features for FAKUMA 2026 is, for example, an MES cloud solution hosted by ARBURG. With this monthly billed service, customers no longer require a one-off investment or their own MES infrastructure and IT personnel, while data security is enhanced at the same time. In addition, ALS now offers new functions incorporating Artificial Intelligence (AI), such as program analysis and administration.

Customer portal apps support everyday injection moulding operations

The arburgXworld customer portal can be linked to the MES or used independently. Its numerous apps covering all injection moulding tasks, from selecting the appropriate machine and optimising processes directly on a PC to active support in the event of malfunctions, simplify daily work, prevent errors and increase productivity. AI is also playing an increasingly important role here. For example, the premium app “Ask ARBURG” contains extensive ARBURG injection moulding expertise that can be accessed easily and, supported by AI, can answer specific questions about all ARBURG products and processes relating to injection moulding as well as analyse errors.

Central control with smart assistants and pilots

At FAKUMA 2026, all exhibits will be equipped with several assistants or pilots. The smart assistance and pilot functions guide the operator safely through the processes, ensure the desired part quality despite changing conditions and materials, deliver high process stability and reduced unit costs, and enable predictive maintenance of the mould and machine.

Benchmark: “NextGen Medical Solution” production cell

A highlight in terms of digital networking is the “NextGen Medical Solution”, a turnkey system built around an electric ALLROUNDER 570 A, which ARBURG has realised together with competent partners and a renowned OEM for medical technology. Using the example of an injector pen, the exhibit demonstrates the significant benefits offered by consolidating all data within the GESTICA control system and its numerous smart pilot and assistance functions.
